ATTENDANCE

Orchestra members required to attend all rehearsals and performances. They are expected to arrive 5 minutes early and stay to the rehearsal’s conclusion. An attendance sheet is posted inside the door of each rehearsal room. It is the members' responsibility to initial the attendance sheet at each rehearsal.

 

ABSENCES

If you have a conflict with a rehearsal or performance, please notify us by email well in advance. If it is for a planned absence: Students should email us at least two (2) weeks before a rehearsal and at least four (4) weeks before a concert.

Please provide student's name, instrument, date of absence, type (arriving late, absent, leaving early) and reason for absence.Arriving late to rehearsal or leaving early will be considered ½ an absence (unless released early by conductor).If a student has missed more than (3) two rehearsals during a concert cycle, participation in the concert will be at the discretion of the conductor.

 

REHEARSALS

Students must maintain a respectful relationship with the conductor and fellow musicians. Rehearsal rooms must be left clean and in order. Parents are responsible for picking up their children immediately after rehearsal ends.

 

REHEARSAL TIMES AND LOCATION

All orchestras rehearse every Saturday night from Sept. 14, 2013 to Jun 14, 2014, except for school closures as observed in the Federal Way School District. Rehearsals are held at Faith Church

REHEARSALS BEGIN AT 4:00 PM. PLEASE ARRIVE 5 MINUTES EARLY.

 

Concert orchestra concludes at 6:00 PM

 

SHEET MUSIC

EACH MUSICIAN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MUSIC DISTRIBUTED TO HIM/HER. PLEASE BRING YOUR MUSIC TO EACH REHEARSAL. 

 

MUSIC STAND

Every musician needs to bring a music stand to every practice and dress rehearsal.

• Black dress shoes

 

Boys

• Black slacks,socks and shoes

• Long-sleeved white shirt

• Black bow tie
